Our skin is our largest and most absorbent organ and what we put on our bodies can often do more harm than the food we put in our bodies. In this one day course, we will cover how to make your own personal care products using plants that can be grown in the Pacific Northwest and how to grow them at home.  Here are some of the topics we will cover in the class:

  • Soaps: both cold-pressed bar soaps and liquid soaps. We’ll cover medicinal soaps as well.

  • Hair rinses and shampoos

  • Plant based hydrosols. We’ll also cover how to make your own hydrosol still at home as well.

  • Herbal toothpastes and tooth powders.

  • Growing your herbs at home within a permaculture system.

Students will go home with samples of all of the personal care products listed above.
