Recently, we helped create a group called the Skagit Barter Potluck (it's on Facebook if you'd like to join - the link is at the bottom). The purpose of the group is to bring together the local community once per month to trade goods, skilled labor, and to share food and network. Each month, the potluck will be held at a different location in Skagit county. Anything can be traded (including items that you haven't made yourself) and the only rule is that there cannot be any cash exchanged.
On Saturday, August 18 we'll be hosting a barter potluck and you're all invited. There will be a garden tour beginning at 4pm and then we will eat and begin trading shortly after 5 (we ask that you bring a table to display your goods since we only have 3 or 4). When the bartering is over, we'll be having a fire so bring your favorite beverages and an instrument. We also have a kayak if you'd like to take a ride on our 1 acre pond and plenty of space for camping if you'd like to spend the night. Our address is 25368 Old Day Creek Road, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284. Hope to see you all then!
